I am delighted to have been chosen as Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for South Swindon. It was a real priviledge to serve as the Member of Parliament here for five years; during that time we saw crime fall and NHS waiting times reach a record low, but all this is now under threat from a Conservative-led government that is making life worse, not better for people here.
People are feeling the pinch from the rise in VAT and cuts to public services that we depend upon. Police numbers are falling, tuition fees are rising and our NHS is being subjected to an unneccessary and ideological reorganisation. Robert Buckland made a lot of promises before the election but his words are now ringing very hollow indeed.
